the pap smear change is especially wierd. over the decades it has been talked about as being the thing that has worked best to bring down female cancer rates.
are they replacing it with the hpv shot or something?
IMO stick to the method that has worked for decades.
References :
It makes me angry, because most women that get gonorrhea/chlamydia find out from an incidental pap smear. So potentially someone could go 2 years before finding out they have chlamydia, so at that time they could be infertile, or instead present with a bad complication.

I think especially for younger, sexually active women, this is outrageous to say that a 17 year old who is sexually active shouldn't get a PAP smear-- because that's usually when they get their STD screening.

Maybe the government is trying to control the population? eh?? probably not, but it still makes me angry.
References :
What do you think of the new government guidelines for women's health care?
So, now the government is saying that women should have a mammogram only every two years, and today they announced another new guideline that women in their 20's should only have a pap smear every two years.

This is crazy! What do you think about this? Is it any coincidence that these new guidelines that could possibly restrict preventative care are coming out just as congress is discussing the cost of the "public option?"
